Basic infomatios

The Department of Basic and Applied Sciences deals with teaching in the fields of mathematics, physics, chemistry and environmental protection, foreign languages, pedagogical and didactic sciences, psychology, law, and textile and clothing sciences. Teaching at undergraduate and master's degree programs in the above-mentioned fields takes place according to valid study programs, where students acquire both theoretical and practical knowledge in selected fields. The Department is responsible for the study program Clothing Engineering, basic and master academic studies.

The Clothing Engineering study program deals with training students for:

• solving practical problems in the clothing industry,
• organization in the management of production processes,
• designing products and processes in all segments of the clothing industry,
• production of clothing products while simultaneously acquiring skills for creative work on the development and rapid transfer of modern technologies in specific production processes.

After completing their studies, students are involved in the production processes of the clothing industry in small and medium enterprises as well as in large companies.

The chair is responsible for the organization of two international conferences "Textile Science and Economy" and "Physical Aspects of Environment".
